Last year, our acclaimed education programme welcomed 25,000 schoolchildren to The Living Rainforest.
Amazing Adaptations
Our most popular tour, Amazing Adaptations focuses on how plants and animals have adapted to living in a rainforest environment. Students will learn about the different layers of the rainforest.
Edible Rainforest
Especially suitable for KS 1 and 2, this tour introduces students to the wide variety of foods that come from rainforest environments. Pupils will learn the requirements of living things for growth and survival.
Sustainable Future
Especially suited to secondary school children, this tour helps students to explore threats to rainforest ecosystems and encourages students to explore sustainable development through practical examples.
Rainforest Resources
This new tour explores different rainforest resources such as medicines, timber and food.

Lots of beautiful plants, flowers, birds, insects, animals and butterflies I’d never seen before and lots I’d never heard of! We saw 3 members of staff during our visit who were more than happy to chat to us about the birds, insects and reptiles they were feeding or looking after. They were all extremely friendly, knowledgeable and we could tell they genuinely cared about the animals and plants....The fact sheets for the children to fill in on the way round were really good and they enjoyed reading the facts to find the answers to the quizzes, all very age appropriate and interesting. A really lovely way to spend a few hours. We will most certainly be back, great value for money and I would highly recommend visiting."
