Get closer to the wonders of the natural world

Situated in the Winchester countryside, just three miles from the M3, Marwell Zoo is the perfect place to visit when looking for things to do with kids in Hampshire. The 140-acre wildlife park is home to hundreds of animals, from endangered Amur tigers, snow leopards and white rhinos to giraffes, gibbons and penguins – you’re in for a wild time!

When looking for things to do in Winchester, Marwell’s incredible range of animals boasts over 140 species. Head into our sustainable Tropical House, and explore two levels of wildlife, where the cascading waterfall and warm climate is home to free-flying birds, a sloth and our apex predator, the crocodile monitor lizard. Wander along the boardwalk for exceptional views of the zebras, rhinos and oryx, something the whole family can enjoy on a day out with the kids in Hampshire.

Educational Workshops

As part of your visit, schools can book any of our curriculum-linked workshops which are held in the science and learning building. This is situated next to the
snow leopard enclosure on the south road.
