School Puzzle Company – School Puzzle Activity Day Workshops for Schools

School Puzzle Activity Days

The School Puzzle Company is operated by Workshops At Schools Ltd. We have created a unique selection of puzzles providing all group members the chance to meaningly participate in our School Puzzle Activity Days. This is possible because we have enlarged all of our puzzles specifically for use by groups within the school setting. A typical sub group size, should you engage The School Puzzle Company, will be 6 pupils. By increasing the size of our puzzles allows the groups focus to be directly on the challenge in hand. It also prevents team members blocking the view for others, making the solving process a great Team Building exercise. Our aim is to maximise participation levels during the problem solving process. The larger puzzle pieces also allows other pupils to better observe their peers actions helping towards the groups communicating their thoughts and ideas on how to solve the challenges.

Planning your Maths Puzzle Activity Day

The School Puzzle Company’s aim is to be as flexible as possible when creating our Maths Puzzle Activity Days. We know that each school has different aims and objectives for their booking and different numbers of classes that you may wish to participate. Below are some questions that we are commonly asked.

How far in advance do we need to our Maths Puzzle Activity Day?

The School Puzzle Company is a popular choice for schools so we suggest holding a date as soon as you know which you want. This will avoid disappointment. WE are always happy to provisionally hold a date for you whilst you are planning your day.

What age pupils do you work with?

The School Puzzle Company work with both Primary and Secondary Schools and differentiate the activities accordingly. We work with classes from Reception (EYFS) in Primary School up to year 6 including all years in KS1 and KS2. In Secondary schools our Maths Puzzle Activity Days are suitable for KS3 students.

How many pupils can we work with at a time ?

Each of our instructors can run a session with up to 60 pupils (two classes) at a time.

The only year group that we suggest working with groups of 30 is Reception (EYFS) in Primary School as this provides the opportunity for the instructor to give that extra explanation and support that they will need to get the most from our Maths Puzzle Activity Days.
