Raby Castle – History School Trips for Schools County Durham

Educational visits

With historic reference from the Middle Ages through to the Victorian Era Raby Castle is ideal for pupils of primary and secondary schools and above.

Visits must be pre-booked and are available throughout the year.

GUIDED TOURS

Experienced guides tailor each individual visit specifically to the needs of your group, taking into account age and National Curriculum requirements. Guides enhance the motivational tours by involving a degree of storytelling.

A Castle tour takes approximately 60 minutes.

After the Castle tour there is much more to see and experience, such as the Horse-Drawn Carriage Collection, Deer Park and Walled Garden.

PICNIC AREA

There is a picnic area in the Park or the Servants Hall in the Castle is available for packed lunches in case of bad weather.

THE STABLES SHOP

Children are welcome in the Stables Shop in small, supervised groups or gift bags can be arranged in advance for each child, according to your budget.

ADVENTURE PLAY AREA

The Woodland Adventure Play Area is also available for children ages 6+ to use, and is a good way to fit in some exercise before returning to school.

One adult goes free for every 10 children
