Enjoy a 50-minute River Explorer Cruise on the world famous Mersey Ferry, and see incredible views of Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront.
Our on board commentary highlights the River Mersey’s key landmarks as well as their history, so the cruise is the perfect mix of fun and education for your class.
River Explorer Cruises depart every day, on the hour from Pier Head and also stop at Seacombe Ferry Terminal and Woodside Ferry Terminal on the 50-minute round trip.
Advanced booking is required for your trip on the ferry, and we offer one free teacher per 6 paying children.
River Explorer Cruise (includes U-boat Story) - £7.00
U-boat Story (only) - £4.50
We have two Mersey Ferries; the Royal Iris of the Mersey in traditional black, white and red livery and the Dazzle Ferry, the only operating Dazzle Ship in the UK. The eye-catching design was created by Sir Peter Blake as part of the First World War commemorations.

Testimonials
"Ferry across the Mersey is something else to add to your list of things to do when visiting this magnificent city. Some great views of the Wirral and the skyline of Liverpool and nothing would be complete without Gerry and the Pacemakers Ferry across the Mersey to top it off. A running commentary is available to listen to on the journey with some interesting facts. Drinks and snacks are available on board the ferry at competitive prices. Food drink and a good range of souvenirs are available at the Fab 4 cafe at the Liverpool Ferry Terminal. Would advise going on a nice summer's day to make the most of the ferry trip as it can get cold on board. You can go indoors under cover but the trip is much better on the top deck...."
