More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider

Drum Runners have run educational interactive music workshops for over 25 years and we support pupils and staff to create their best performance and to work as a team.

Be at the Creative Stage and make music from Junk with the bicycle wheel drums, colourful barrel drums, other unusual percussion plus a hands free flute and audio effects / looping pedals.

Interactive Junk Music (Original Songs and Song Writing)

Discover the rhyme and rhythm to make repetition a fun and rewarding activity. Our junk drums now have newly painted designs to show each of our original songs.

Music can encourage lateral thinking and develop confident voices with new fun songs to support language and motor skills.

All battery powered effects and audio pedals make the workshops sessions ideal for outdoor or indoor learning in a number of workshop formats.

For group sizes of up to 40 participants.

Delivered by Paul Midgley, an experienced Workshop Facilitator and a legend in his own lunch-time. Paul started at the age of 3 playing biscuit tins and Tupperware boxes and the beat goes on ... Paul has played in Village Halls and at Royal Festival Hall and has created a library of Commercial & Community CDs with communities he has worked with.

Testimonials

Paul visited our school to deliver a drumming workshop for our two Year 2 classes. The children loved listening to Paul talk about the instruments he'd made and they really enjoyed playing the barrel and bike wheel drums. It was fantastic that there were enough drums for all children to have a go at the same time. It was a busy action packed day. We tied the drumming workshop in with our D&T project making junk model instruments. Paul had a brilliant rapport with the children and definitely inspired their instrument ideas. An excellent enrichment day for our 'Beat Band Boogie' topic. Thank you Paul!
Anna Cowcher, Teacher at Heathcote Primary School in Warwick

The children thoroughly enjoyed the drumming workshop with Paul! He made sure all children were involved and had a great sense of humour, which the children thought was great! The children are really inspired to make their own instruments and test out the sounds they can make. Thank you Paul, you were great!
Nina Brown, Teacher at Greenfield E-ACT Academy in Bristol

Paul came to our outdoor nursery and ran an amazing session for our 36 Pre-Schoolers. They danced, they drummed they sang and (incredibly!) the vast majority of them chose to play non-stop for an hour and a half. His session was so engaging and fun, and the children loved every second. We look forward to having Paul come along again next year. Thank you!
