More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider

Welcome to Quality School Workshops

PSHE is our speciality

Quality School Workshops has been delivering school programmes since 2010. We started with just one idea, ‘Alphabet of a Teenager.’ Having trained as a performer at the Guildford School of Acting, Adam -our founder- noticed a growing trend in Theatre in Education programmes, but many schools could not afford to spend money on a performance that only covered one PSHE topic, when there are so many to be delivered. He put together a consortium of educators, students and actors, then sat down and wrote the one-man play. Using that as a spring board, schools began to phone asking if any other programmes were available. Not wanting to disappoint, we began to ask what it was they wanted and most of these workshops are as a result of a direct request from teachers all over the United Kingdom and overseas. We have conducted more than 1,000 school visits with an 86% rebooking rate. We’re really proud of what we do and live and breathe PSHE every single day.

How can you avoid becoming addicted?

Our Addiction workshop explores what constitutes addiction and how we have the power to avoid falling into the ‘addicted’ trap. Pupils explore alcohol, drugs and gambling addictions. Our Addiction workshop is a fully interactive workshop encompassing drama, discussion, group work and decision making.

It is very likely that you will notice an improvement in pupil knowledge, feel assured that they are aware of the facts and are comfortable that they are able to make informed decisions based on what they’ve learnt during the workshop.

Workshop Length:  60 minutes to a full school day

Adapted versions for: Key Stage 3, 4 & 5

About The Workshop

Your addiction workshop will begin with an interactive and visual discussion around what constitutes an addict and how it manifests in its various forms.

Your pupils will see our facilitator become three separate characters, all who tell their ‘addictive’ story. They have the opportunity to interrogate and ask questions.

Their task is to investigate the ‘tipping point’ for each character. What caused them to become addicted and how could their circumstances have been different?

In longer addiction workshops, pupils have the opportunity to take part in our innovative ‘Casino Carousel’ which is a test of their knowledge and resilience.

In even longer workshops, we explore what support is available now and more importantly, what could we be doing better?

Features & Benefits

We believe that our Addiction Workshop will compliment and enhance your current PSHE programme.

Our interactive workshops avoid preachy clichés, steer clear of scaremongering and present the information in a unique style that will mean pupils feel comfortable, engaged and will entice them to pick up more knowledge – allowing them to make informed future decisions.

If requested, we can provide you with qualitative and quantitative data analysis so that you can measure acquired knowledge and gauge the enjoyment of the workshop. Please ask us for more details about this on the form below.
