Fuel learning across the curriculum with the National Coal Mining Museum and give your pupils a unique experience they will never forget.
We'd love to have you with us on site but for just for now we'll
be coming to you with our virtual workshops and loan boxes. We also have lots of resources right here for you to use.
Take the opportunity to welcome our miners or characters from history into your classroom with a live interactive workshop by video call. We can also help you plan immersive days using resources from our loan boxes or extensive online resources.

Come back in the future to experience our historic colliery buildings, interactive galleries, inspiring workshops and the chance to go underground in a real coal mine. We’ll provide an immersive learning environment where pupils can:
- investigate their local history
- find out about coal mining through time
- solve a scientific problem and see science in action
- handle objects
- be creative and curious
- enjoy the great outdoors
Charges will apply for the Underground Tour and Workshops.
