More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider

School Printmaking Workshops

Teaching is one of the best things I find about being an artist myself. I am really passionate about sharing my printmaking experience with others especially children and young people who I find a joy to work with because of their passion for learning and enthusiasm.

I run printmaking workshops at primary schools, secondary schools and colleges. I can bring my portable printing press along with all necessary equipment including specialist water based ink, printing paper and all other tools required which can be added to the cost of the session or I will be happy to use facilities provided by the school if agreed beforehand.

I make my sessions fun and have an ability to extract creativity even out of the most reluctant individual.

I will provide a fun, creative, experimental day for students as they discover the printmaking process and I am happy to work with staff to follow curriculum to work on specific projects that they may have in mind.

I am happy to develop and agree a plan with teachers for the workshop which will provide students with the opportunity to develop drawings and then to experiment with these through the different printmaking processes such as drypoint etching, monoprinting and collograph.

School Printmaking Workshop Costs And Availability

I am available to bring my printmaking workshop to your school most weekdays during term time. I typically run mobile school printmaking workshops in Stockport, Manchester, Sheffield, High Peak, Derbyshire, Cheshire, Yorkshire and Lancashire although I am happy to consider other areas for larger projects if necessary.

I can teach a maximum of 10 - 15 children per half day with assistance from teachers and teaching assistants, teachers may prefer to nominate key children to work on an area of a project with me and the rest on a supporting area of the project with their teacher or use me for multiple days so that the whole class has the opportunity to work with me. Small group sizes is essential with printmaking to ensure pupils receive sufficient 1:1 time during the process to produce the required results and to ensure that there is enough equipment available.

Workshops are available in drypoint etching, monoprint, linocut and screenprinting. Screenprinting costs below include printing to paper but I can also teach printing to fabric such as bags, T-shirts etc. Please enquire for additional costs that will be incurred to purchase these items ready for printing. Please note - Screen printing workshops would require smaller group sizes.
