More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider
Body Percussion Workshops
For Body percussion no instruments are needed. We will be exploring the use of the body as a percussive instrument and create rhythms by slapping, clicking, clapping and stomping.
The children do not require prior knowledge of drumming, dancing or other special musical skills.
This workshop offers them an excellent opportunity for self expression, it creates a sense of community and connection and is a lot of fun!
FabDrumming is run by Marion Nieuwenhuizen. Marion is a fully qualified teacher and also teaches African drumming, Junk Percussion, African dance and South African Gumboot dancing.
Marion studied dance and music in Mali, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, Ireland, UK and The Netherlands.
She holds a current enhanced DBS check. She is a member of the Musician's Union and is covered by up to £10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance.
Testimonials
Many thanks for your excellent workshops last week - the feedback from staff and children has been very positive! I thought the session I saw was so well paced and enabled all the children to participate, regardless of experience or ability. The final performance was brilliant and engaged the audience despite their excitement at the prospect of half term! Hopefully you will be able to visit us again in the future.
