More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider

Education is at the forefront of everything we do here at Cedars Nature Centre!

Whether you are primary school children learning about mini beasts, higher education students looking to learn about the role of modern zoos or a cub or brownie group looking to earn their Animal Care Badge.

We can help!

Onsite School Visits

The Zoo Tour (£5 per child)

The Zoo Tour is our most popular onsite school package!

  • Your class will go on a tour of the zoo with one of our keepers meeting lots of our animals along the way!
  • Then its on to the minibeast hunt, which invertebrates will your school find?
  • We finally finish with a meerkat feed through an open window!

The Zoo Tour lasts around 1.5hours

Offsite School Visits (P.O.A)

Ranger Stu and AnimalMan Nick work with industry leaders and a QTLS industry specialist to create curriculum based sessions to suit a range of themes and age groups.

Whats more they can bring the animals to you!

They are fully insured, licensed and with clean DBS certification.

So rest assured, you're in the safest hands!

Primary

From relaxed nursery school visits to curriculum based school lectures. We provide animals that will fit all topics! Rainforests, habitats, diets and adaptations are curriculum staples and we can adapt the talks to any topic you are covering, no matter how unique!

Secondary

Looking for something more in depth? We can also cater our presentations for secondary curriculum based topics such as evolution, classification and taxonomy, ecosystems and the environment.

Further Education

We often work alongside colleges and university's. This includes bespoke presentations on creating a zoo (including a few of the animals found there) to more general animal lectures and career fairs.

SEN

Ranger Stu regularly works with children with Special Educational Needs at various schools and events throughout the year.

Each SEN group receives a bespoke presentation adapted to the groups needs with animals chosen accordingly.
