More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider
Our unique Alcohol and Drugs Awareness Workshop for Years 5-8 creates a safe environment for pupils to begin considering this sensitive subject. We aim to ‘prepare not to scare’ as we delve into the issues surrounding drugs, alcohol and smoking, as well as the associated issues of peer pressure and knowing how to make informed, sensible decisions.
Pupils find this workshop setting, led by a trained A-life coach, a comfortable and relaxed space in which to explore the issues through hands-on activities (including trying out our amazing drunk simulation goggles) to help children engage in this serious and important topic which many schools and families find difficult to tackle.
• Interactive, hard-hitting yet super-fun session
• We are an experienced provider with over 19 years’ experience, having taught over 1 million children in more than 1500 schools with outstanding feedback and a 5 star rating almost every time
• We visit your school, so no additional transport costs or off-site disruptions for you (children stay in their usual lessons until their workshop time)
• You can mix and match from our other workshops to create a unique programme that suits your school’s needs
*We can also run this workshop over zoom/online and send some of the resources to keep the session interactive.

Testimonials
"Excellent. Great balance of facts, discussion and activities. I think they'll remember this for a long time and have taken a lot from it - thank you. Very informative and pitched just right for this age group of pupils (Year 6) - will help discussion to follow. Superb way of demonstrating the benefits and ill effects of drugs. Very interactive and great coach. The children absolutely loved it! 5*."

Dear A-life, Thank you for the great Drugs Awareness Session you delivered today for the year 6 children. I was pleased to listen in with the class I support as my own children has told me so much about it when they had the session a few years ago. Now aged 16 and 17, my daughters attended this school. They still sometimes talk about the A-life session and how much of an impression it made on them. It is one of the highlights of their primary school education. They chat about the beer goggles and the beanboozled game, the pictures they saw and the jar filled lungs. I am sure that the workshop provided to them has had a lasting positive impact and supported them to make informed sensible choices throughout their teenage years. Thank you for all that you are doing for our young people. Kind regards. Parent/teacher
