More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider

About Me

Experienced in arts education and participatory arts practice, I am skilled in developing inspirational creative projects, project management and delivering to a high standard.

I have been producing work with diverse communities in London for the last 10 years, and have collaborated with many artists, creative thinkers, producers and others working within the cultural sector. Alongside this I have also been developing my own practice as a visual artist, exploring the cross-over between new media and more traditional mediums.

My Work in Education

Working as a freelance artist with myriad schools and youth provisions, has served me
well in gaining a deeper understanding of inner- London communities diversity and realities, plus a vast experience working with SEN school provisions and hard to reach young people (NEET), both in formal and non formal educational settings.

I am passionate about the arts and arts education and enjoy taking on new challenges , explore new ways of ʻdoingʼ and thinking outside the box.

Aboriginal Art Workshop

Depending upon the age of your pupils I am able to recommend and run a variety of Aboriginal Art workshops and will be pleased to discuss ideas with you prior to the workshop. I have run workshops where pupils have created Dreamtime paintings, wall hangings, textile prints, and sculpture to name just a few.

My Other Workshops

I work in different mediums so am able to deliver a range of different workshops which are designed to meet your school's individual needs and desired outcomes. To see the range of workshops I offer, simply put "Teresa" into the website's search box.

Testimonials

Teresa Paiva from Wise Moves art workshops spent the day with us, working with every child in the school, from the oldest to the youngest, to plan and prepare a large triptych collage. The final destination for this collage will be display space in our new school hall, but for now, it will be proudly featured outside Mrs. Knox’s office. The triptych is planned to incorporate images from Benenden Primary School, past and present, including children and teachers, layered with photos taken around the Green. We also hope that the children will be able to add images of their favourite parts of the school building so that when finished, the picture will represent many happy memories for our community. Teresa worked with the children to teach them how to reproduce and layer images and arrange them to pleasing effect. The children have begun to assemble their pictures and to work on them with acrylic paint and other media. The plan is now to continue to assemble photos, maps, original artwork and to layer and collage until a scrap book effect is achieved. The sponsorship money from NADFAS has enabled the children to plan and work together as a team, working with an artist has enriched their curriculum and we will have a lasting artwork to take with us to the new school.
