More about this Workshop/Service and the Provider
All of my educational dance workshops are designed to work alongside the school curriculum to help enhance and develop a deeper understanding of learning.
From looking at the skeleton and allowing the children to explore the human body through to discovering the beauty of the rainforest and the numerous animals which have chosen to make it their home.
My educational workshops are designed to build on classroom fundamental skills and continue the learning journey through movement of dance.
"Katie’s experience, knowledge and enthusiasm has meant that as a school, all year groups have experienced high quality dance sessions. Teaching staff have worked alongside Katie and been given the support and guidance that they have individually requested to enable them to plan and teach dance as part of our school curriculum. The Street Dance sessions in particular have been a great success with all the children and were a great way to get the older boys moving. In the new academic year, we are now planning to expand the children’s experiences further by developing themed dance sessions that will link with the children’s topic work. The staff and children, look forward to our continued working partnership with Katie.”
Sue Bedford West Hill Primary School Arts Coordinator
“Katie came to our school to deliver Street Dance sessions to our pupils across KS1 and KS2. All of our children had a great time, finding the sessions fun, very active and purposeful. The sessions culminated in a short performance in front of family and friends. The children relished the opportunity to show off their skills. I believe these sessions offered an opportunity for both boys and girls of all abilities to enjoy working and performing together as a group.”
Jacky Pinder-White, P.E. Co-ordination, Drakes Primary School
“Having Katie teach dance in school is brilliant. She delivers lessons that are a fantastic and fun approach to the curriculum. It’s great to see the children, even the shy ones, really joining in and developing their movement and performance skills.”
Amanda Pow, PE co-ordinator, The Beacon CE Primary School.
