Mika is a musician and dancer working in performance arts in the UK since 2005, specialising in Brazilian percussion, song and dance.
She takes yearly training visits to Brazil to continue her professional development and speaks Brazilian Portuguese, which she likes to use when teaching workshops.
Mika is an experienced facilitator and works with all ages and levels covering a range of Brazilian dance and musical styles and can start the day with a short talk during assembly and work with your individual classes towards a sharing at the end of the day, if time allows.
Samba dance workshops can also be linked to your topic or area of the curriculum and are a wonderful platform for teaching young people about Brazilian culture and the influence African culture has had on its people, their dance and music.
