Chinese Dance Workshops
Lucia delivers a range of different Chinese dance workshops which are accessible from EYFS all the way up to KS5.
Schools can choose from the following workshop styles:
- Chinese Ribbon Dance
- Chinese Fan Dance
Lucia will bring the dance props with her (enough for a class of up to 30 pupils). The fan dance is recommended for KS2 children upwards as the fans are quite large to hold for little hands. The ribbon dance is an exciting form of Chinese Dance (pictured above) which is enjoyed as much by boys as it is girls!
Chinese New Year
Lucia can link her workshops to your topic on China and also delivers workshops on Chinese New Year. Schools are able to book a mixture of Chinese Dance and Chinese Calligraphy workshops with her through which your pupils will have the opportunity to learn a bit about the Chinese culture and how certain festivals are celebrated.
Training & Background
Lucia studied Chinese dance from an early age and continued her training as a member of the Hong Kong National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team. She was introduced to modern dance while earning my B.Sc. in Environmental Science at the University of California-Berkeley.
Lucia is a talented dancer who has gone on to enjoy a professional performance and teaching career. She has worked in contemporary dance, dance theatre, multi-media, circus, and commercial dance companies.
Education Work
Lucia is an inspiring teacher and mentor and has been working within the education sector for some years now delivering a range of workshops including Chinese dance, Tai Chi, Yoga and Chinese Calligraphy.
She is passionate about inspiring the next generation of dancers and teaching learners about Chinese culture through her workshops and is a valued facilitator for one of the UK’s largest providers of dance workshops to schools and colleges.
