Residential Activity Programmes are the flagship offering at Govilon. We’ve been running these for School Children, Youth Groups and Corporations since 1971.
The purpose of our Residential Activity Programmes is simple. To provide people with an enjoyable, challenging and meaningful experience in the outdoors. We use traditional Outdoor Education methods to deliver exciting activities in real settings. When coupled with the experience of living and working together in a homely, residential environment – this forms the basis of our unique programmes at Govilon.
Programme Duration
Our typical Residential Activity Programmes range from 3 to 5 days in length, but every programme is bespoke so there are no limitations. We will always discuss your requirements with you in detail, to determine the most suitable programme duration.
Activities
Activity options on our residentials include:- Rock Climbing & Abseiling, Gorge Walking, Caving, Kayaking, Canoeing, Hill Walking, Archery, Bush Craft, Orienteering and Problem Solving. Based on the needs of your group and any preference you might have, we'll agree on the best activity choices for your group.
All activities are led by qualified and highly experienced Instructors who hold relevant National Governing Body qualifications (NGB's) and First Aid certificates. In addition, some activity sessions are supported by a competent Assistant Instructor, who is typically on their way to becoming fully qualified. This allows the assistant to gain valuable practical experience, provides extra supervision and enhances the activity session for the group.
Catering
Our kitchen staff prepare a well-balanced, nutritious and varied menu for our visitors. All our fresh meat is sourced locally from an award-winning butcher and our fruit & vegetables come from our Herefordshire supplier.
We cater for all dietary requirements and preferences, whether they are for medical, religious or other reasons.
