Many schools return to us year after year, finding that our personalised activity programmes promote independence and allow students the chance to bond with both their peers and teachers in an idyllic and informal setting. At the Manor House & Ashbury hotels, we aim to provide an opportunity for young people to experience new challenges, whilst learning valuable life skills, gaining confidence and most of all embarking on an active holiday that they'll never forget.

Our hotels are located just outside of Okehampton and are easily accessible three miles off the A30 (the main route into Devon from the M5). Not only does our location mean you can view the stunning scenery of Dartmoor every day, but we are also in a fantastic location to take part in local activities such as pony trekking, horse riding and cycling.

Our schools co-ordinator and activities team are dedicated to you. Just let us know which activities you'd like to take part in and we'll put together a bespoke programme for your group. Once you arrive our fully trained activity instructors will run all of your sessions, giving you more time to enjoy the activities and create lasting memories.

We know how important it is to learn the necessary skills to work as part of a team, our fantastic range of group activities give students the opportunity to communicate effectively and confidently. Take part in fast-paced, engaging and fun bespoke team development at the Manor House and Ashbury Hotels. Leading an active and healthy lifestyle is important for adults and children alike, that's why we give you the opportunity to inject energy into your group by choosing from over 70 sports, leisure and craft activities.
Our host of activities provide a fantastic opportunity for children to practise, take part in competitions and work on their technique with our coaches; we have a total of 4 indoor halls and an outdoor all-weather pitch, so can enjoy sports whatever the weather.

All of the equipment and facilities for our on-site activities are included in the price of your stay so there's no need to spend any additional money once you arrive. Keeping young minds active and engaged isn't always the easiest of tasks. One of the best ways is often thought to be through the use of creative activities such as art and design. Our unique craft centres give students the opportunity to take part in lots of different crafts, learn new skills and create some fantastic products that they can take home and feel truly proud of.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are meals included in the our stay?
Yes all meals are included except lunch on arrival and departure day, which is just £3 per student and £6 per adult. We can also provide packed lunches for days out.
We cater for vegetarians, gluten free diets and other special diets if requested. Just let us know before you arrive.
What type of bedrooms are available?
We have twin, triple and quad rooms available. We also offer single rooms for teachers, accompanying adults and coach drivers.
All of our rooms are en-suite and have tea/coffee facilities, hair dryers, telephones and TVs. These can be removed in student rooms if requested.
Can you provide risk assessments?
We can provide risk assessments for all of our activities.
A first aider is on site at all times.
Can your provide coach or mini bus parking?
Yes, not a problem, just let us know when you book your stay.
Do you have Wi-Fi available?
Yes, we have free Wi-Fi available in both the reception and lounge areas in both hotels.
What do we need to pack?
You DO need to pack sports clothing, general outdoor clothing, a coat, swimming kit, trainers and for those doing off-site activities we recommend a small backpack to carry your lunch and a drink.
You DO NOT need to pack rackets, balls, bibs or any other equipment. Bath towels and bedding are provided in all rooms. Swimming towels are available to hire from reception (£5 returnable deposit + £1 hire charge)
Do you have a shop available if I forget anything?
We have a small selection of toiletries such as toothpaste and shampoo available at reception. We also sell a selection of clothing and souvenirs.
